Trail Updates

After 100 days of operations we are ready to put a cork in this years winter season! Thanks to all the staff, volunteers, landowners, sponsors, pass purchasers, trail users, businesses, and community members that make this magical system work each year. We truly couldn't sustain our work without everyone playing a role!

Spring skiing out of Cub Creek is still feasible for the hardy with the best skiing in the Rendezvous Pass and Cedar Creek areas.

Summer trail uses are now allowed on all trails and roads that offer summer access even though there are some pockets of snow and ice.

Trailhead shuttles

Ditch the car and let TranGO do the driving! Our local public tranportation bus service is now offering trips to the upper valley, including the Mazama trailhead. Rides are just $1 and kids are free. You can even bring your bike or skis along for the ride, and drivers can drop you off anywhere along the route it is safe to pull over. TranGO runs all day, Monday-Saturday; check out their website for route and schedule details.

Methow Valley Wax of the Day

It's below freezing early this morning but will warm up quickly once we get to mid-morning

Wax Recommendations from Nordic Ultratune:

Glide -  Toko Red/Yellow mix  or Swix 8 should work.    You could also use one of the fluorine-free non-aerosol liquid glide waxes like Vauhti PURE Mid or Warm .
Grip  -  Many will favor a waxless option.   Skin skis seems prudent.
Or, you might try using grip wax.  It's a klister day.    Try Toko Red, or Vauhti LDR or Orange Uni, or Swix Uni.
