The past few weeks have not been easy on the trails. After an assessment of flood damage, we have water covering or blocking access to 8.5 miles of trails, including two bridges that have washed out. We have a list of trails below that have sustained the most damage, and we will be updating our individual trail notes with specific info about each trail and our plan. Huge thank you to our community for reaching out to help. At this time, our staff are hard at work doing what we can to reopen as much as possible before the winter sets in, but we can likely use the most help this coming spring and summer when we can get proper resources, planning, and equipment in place to fix the damage.  

The good news is that this is the last day of rain in the forecast this week. The better news is that we have over a foot of snow forecast late this week and through the weekend! The best news is that the temps finally look to be coming down to normal for the time of year. If this all comes to pass, we could all be skiing again by the weekend.

Current Trail Damage Assessment. In Mazama, the Bush school bridges were washed out, and we can't reset them until the water levels are lower. These bridges connect River Run to Basecamp. Doe Canyon has a significant trail washout and is closed for the season. The new Devin Ranch trail has a bridge washed out, as well as water and flood damage. Sun Mtn trails have flood damage on Lower Inside Passage, Aqua Loop, and Fox. WInthrop trails have some washouts along the MCT, but nothing we can't groom through with enough snow. Rendezvous trails so far seemed to be doing alright with the high volume of water.
