METHOW TRAILS FILM FEST

How would you capture the special nature of the Methow Valley? What is it about the connection of people and nature that makes this community such a unique place to call home? 

We invite aspiring filmmakers in our trail community to create a short film that explores the sensations, connections, and feelings that are evoked on the trails, peaks, and rivers of the Methow. 

We're excited to bring our community together for an evening of entertainment and inspiration next December. We hope you'll be a part of it!


You don't need professional equipment to make a great film-- check out this simple and compelling film that our director James made several years ago! 

The Methow Trails Film Fest will take place at the Barnyard Cinema as part of our 2019 Winter Membership Gathering. All entries in the film fest will receive a Methow Trails branded prize.

  • The best films will be screened at the 2019 Winter Membership Gathering and will receive a Methow Trails FIlm Fest Finalist goody bag with prizes from sponsors
  • The winning film will receive a grand prize of  2 Methow Trails Annual Passes in addition to the Film Fest Finalist goody bag

Guidelines

Substance
We are looking for films that are compelling, inspiring, and tell a story that explores the connection between people, nature, and community in the Methow Valley. Cinematography and editing are important, but you don't need to be a professional to enter!

Length
Films should be no more than 6 minutes long.

Local
Filming should be done in and around the Methow Valley. 

Submission Deadline
Film submission is due by November 1, 2019. Please let us know if you plan to submit a film by filling out the form at the bottom of this page.

Submission Format
Films can be submitted to info@methowtrails.org as a link to Vimeo, YouTube, or similar. 

Selection Panel
Judging Panel will be made up of a few Methow Trails staff and board members and at least one local "film expert". Rumors have suggested that the favor can be curried with well-timed baked goods.
